Wheels of Addis

Today was a good day - I finally got my bike! And I’m totally in love.

Here she is in all her glory:

It’s a beautiful 2010 Giant Dash 4. I haven’t got the full matching outfit yet, but watch this space for yellow shoes, silver leggings and white hoodies!

I really couldn’t have found the bike without the help of my knights in shining armour - Steve and Alex.

Here’s Steve outside the shop right after the purchase finally went through. We cycled all the way from the shop in Spitalfields to Brockley right after this photo was taken. You couldn’t get me off my bike with a crowbar!

Doesn’t Steve make a good model? His amazing bike is right behind mine and almost - almost! - outshines it:

I don’t have any pictures of Alex from today but I’ll post some soon just so you can ooh and aah over her baby pink helmet! Here she is 6 weeks back with her gorgeous Specialized bike. This picture was taken right after we’d been on my first trip round the bike shops. It really has taken me this long to find the right bike!

So the training starts here. I’ve got the bike, the kit and caboodle. We’ve taken the little yellow demon out on her maiden voyage… she’s got a few miles yet to see before Ethiopia though. I can’t wait!
