Today, I finally admitted to having an affair. It was an awkward conversation, but I had to tell Gym 1 the truth. I had to admit that I’ve recently been seeing Gym 2. Obviously the news was hard to swallow. I just hope Gym 1 understands that Gym 2 is just a short term thing - a fling if you will. I’ve got to get my kicks while I can, you see.
Anyway, after that confession, Gym 1 and I had a long chat about my goals. As much as I miss Gym 1, it’s clear that the most important thing I can do right now is be on my bike as much as possible. The more uphill the better. And I can tell you my legs are really starting to feel it! It was a struggle to get to work today - I swear I shed a little tear when I hit the hardest bit of hill on my route this morning. Urgh!
The good news is my cycle to work now takes about 55 minutes each way, so just as quick as taking public transport… but FREE!
Every time I struggle with a tough incline or falter on the treadmill, I have to remember what this is all about. And just to bring it all back into perspective, I thought I’d show you exactly where I’ll be cycling to:
See, Gimbi is a real place. On a map and everything! I wonder if we’ll get to visit the nearby villages of Boo or Bogi? They sound fun, anyway
I’m so excited about my big trip and can’t believe how close it’s finally getting. My final message for today’s post is a great big thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far. With your help, I have this week reached 75% of my fundraising target. I’m humbled, honoured and truly blessed. Thank you!
